Trip to the water ski parc

The first week of school we, some people from 9th to 13th grade, just had an adventurous trip to the water ski parc. We started right after school, ate and the bus and arrived after 2 funny hours on our destination in Schwanberg/Steinberger See. At the beginning we all had to decide between doing water skiing or wakeboarding, which both seemed pretty cool. I decided to start simple with the first option. Next we got an instruction followed by a video how to get on the ski, what to do to start, what to do when you fall and so on. But before starting we put on our swimsuits and our wetsuit (neopren), which was a fight getting into it, because they are very tight. Finally, we could go into the beautiful lake.

The weather wasn`t the best but that didn`t matter, because we got wet either. Now it was time to start, but slowly. The area is divided in different stations, for beginners to professionals.

Everybody started with a one line route for beginners to slowly get into waterskiing. The principe was pretty simple, you grab a rope with your hand, crouches down and the most important: muscle tension! With all those prerequisites you could have a good ride, without falling down, while the instructor is pulling the line. Right at this point it already made fun! Slowly more and more of us got into the professional station, which was a stretch in the form of a square. The start was a bit more difficult, but as soon as you were on the water, pulled by the rope, it was so fun. You always had to take care while you got into the corner, because you had to lean to the right to get the chance to pass it. Otherwise you fell down and have to swim the way back to a wooden path in the water or you have to go back straight in the forest, which most of us also experienced.

After 2 sporty hours it was enough and we prepared to go home, we all were exhausted but filled with a new experience and muscle soreness. All in all it was definitely worth it and a very good start in the new school year.
